I have been asked to relate my yoga experience to you. I have only been doing yoga for the past three years. I am by no means a master or yogi but I am definitely a better person for the experience!
This is going to be hard to do because it is different for every body! Bikram Yoga is nuts! This is what I have embraced. Why would you meditate in a 40 degree room, while stretching and compressing your body? This Bikram stuff is so good for you on so many levels. It helps you in ways you don’t even think off.
The benefits for me have been amazing! I am most proud of the fact I have not had a cigarette since starting yoga. I have stopped smoking 30 – 40 cigarettes a day and even managed to lose some weight! I just didn’t want to smoke straight after putting my body through that. Even water taste’s better! All of a sudden you will feel more awake, more alert, your senses are heightened
I find it calming to have somewhere to come for just a couple of hours a day or even a week where you allowed to focus on yourself, and just forget about everything else and yes relax (when they let you)
The games you play in your practice are yours, from mental to physical. Just the heat is enough to do your “head in” but that’s the point!
Through yoga I have also met some really good people, happy calm cool people, who all seem to just bubble along sweetly, always smiling and laughing about life!
